Model Cheryl Tiegs says 'full-figured' model on Sports Illustrated is 'unhealthy' – WSOC TV

LOS ANGELES — Many celebrated the first "full-size" model on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue last week, but one model is not impressed.

Cheryl Tiegs told EOnline she is not a fan of the magazine's move to put Ashley Graham on the cover.

"I don't like that we're talking about full-figured women because it's glamorizing them because your waist should be smaller than 35 (inches)," Tiegs said."That's what Dr. Oz said, and I'm sticking to it."

Tiegs has been on the cover of the Swimsuit Issue herself three times.

"No, I don't think it's healthy," she continued. "Her face is beautiful. Beautiful. But I don't think it's healthy in the long run."

Tiegs made the remarks on the red carpet at the Global Green USA Pre-Oscar Party.

Graham's cover was one of three for the annual Swimsuit Issue. Other cover models were UFC fighter Ronda Rousey and model Hailey Clauson.
